MISSION STATEMENT
THE NEW ABOLITIONISTS
Filmmaker Christina Zorich and crew travel to undisclosed parts of South East Asia following committed abolitionists as they attempt to affect change in ending human sex trafficking. Of all the regions in the world, South East Asia ranks the highest in the human trafficking industry. It is here that we document, via interviews and the real life travails of each brave abolitionist as they infiltrate bars, prepare to prosecute and pull out children and young women from a life of slavery.
This film examines the history of the region, entrenched in political corruption and economic instability. With the help of real life survivors on the topic, we gain valuable insights into victim prevention and rehabilitation. Our goal is to educate the audience on this ever-evolving subject matter with hopes of activating greater practical change. Human trafficking is a complex and insidious cycle that must be eradicated. It is our deepest hearts desire to unmask the problem, while celebrating the noble efforts of those individuals and organizations fighting to do so. The risk is indicting ourselves for unknowingly partnering with the prejudices, inhumanity and complacency that have lead to the spread of this vile industry.
